Today on our trips we saw our classics again. It started this morning with some Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). We could appreciate perfectly the large groups which we can see sometimes around the island with one of the groups being larger than 40 animals today. Apart from this summer classic, we saw our all-year-rounders, the Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus). Little changed on the second trip of both boats, as both dolphins were spotted again. But the ocean still had a surprise for us. The guests on Stenella managed to get a sighting of some Risso’s dolphins (Grampus griseus). These beautiful animals are uncommon visitors of our island, which makes a sighting so special.
