Today was all about the Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). Our delighted guests in the morning and afternoon will certainly keep these little happy makers in their memories as wonderful holiday memories.
In the morning, the Spotted were very active and dynamic. Wherever we looked, the dorsal fins of the little dolphins appeared everywhere. It was a sea of Spotted. Here and there were small feeding situations. Feeding and surfing the bow waves definitely seem to be popular hobbies for the Atlantic spotted dolphins. In the distance, we could see the seawater foaming. This suggests that tuna were hunting there. These are very active, agile hunters.
We also had Atlantic spotted dolphins in the afternoon, but the situation was different from in the morning. The dolphins were quite calm. An important balance of dynamism, being active and calming down to gather strength seems to be important not only for us, but also for the Spotted dolphins. Ultimately, this is the natural cycle of life, of all of our being. We need activity, challenges, creativity, but then there are phases of introspection, rest and relaxation. I wish all our guests that they can experience this balance during their vacation.
A very special encounter with a Loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) swimming towards us with her entourage of fish. Dolphin fishes or also called Mahi-Mahi (Coryphaena hippurus) swam around them, glowing with iridescent colors in the blue.
