One hour had already passed during our afternoon trip and hopes of having a sighting were starting to mingle. As we (crew) were preparing to head back to Calheta harbour and do (as we say in such situations) the “talk of shame!!”, our spotter found through birds and experienced a pod of short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) at a distance of 8 nm from the coast. Tremendous effort and display of skills from our spotter, wich made the trip back much happier and easy for all….
