            Follow the stingray

Published by lobosonda on March 25, 2017

Dolphins have many ways of finding the best meal they can. One smart method is by observing stingrays. They might just lead them to a meal! For example, in Mozambique, small eye stringrays (the biggest sting rays in the world) swim in small groups to find fish. They are often accompanied by scavenger fish, like the cobia fish. This is a sign for the dolphins to start following. They will use their sonar to penetrate the sand and find the fish that are buried there.
