Er ist globales F\u00f6rderband, W\u00e4rmeregulator und Nahrungsquelle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Der Golfstrom, eine Kombination aus Kinderstube und Esszimmer bietet ebenso einen wichtigen Schutzraum und hat einen gro\u00dfen Einfluss auf die \u00d6kologie des Atlantiks. In der Str\u00f6mung bef\u00f6rdertes Plankton reist durch das blaue Element und dient als Nahrungsgrundlage f\u00fcr zahlreiche kleineren Meeresbewohner, die wiederum von ihren gr\u00f6\u00dferen Fressfeinden verzehrt werden. So ist der Golfstrom ein unverzichtbarer Garant der Nahrungskette.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Durch eine perfekt zusammengesetztes Gemisch aus Dichteunterschiede des Wasser, Unterschiede in der Wassertemperatur, gepaart mit dem Salzgehalt im Meer entsteht ein starker Strom, der einen \u00e4u\u00dferst wichtigen Beitrag zur globalen thermohalinen Zirkulation leistet. Doch diese gigantische, \u00fcberlebenswichtige Umw\u00e4lzpumpe \u00a0ist in Gefahr!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Die globale Erw\u00e4rmung verursacht ein Schrumpfen der Eisplatten von der Antarktis, Gr\u00f6nland und eine Schmelze der weltweit existierenden Gletscher. Diese Durchmischung des im Eis festgehaltenen Frischwassers hat eine Abnahme des Salzgehaltes im Meerwasser zur Folge. Und dies ver\u00e4ndert das komplette System. Mit der Reduzierung des Salzgehalts im Ozean, senkt sich die Dichte des Wassers und dadurch verlangsamt sich die Flie\u00dfgeschwindigkeit des Golfstroms. Der relativ hohe Salzgehalt hat zudem den Vorteil, dass wichtige Tiefenstr\u00f6mungen Bestand haben, um das globale F\u00f6rderband zu erhalten. Laut einer Studie von Stefan Rahmstorf verlangsamte sich die Flie\u00dfgeschwindigkeit von Mitte des 20.Jahrhunderts bis 2018 um 15%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Unser europ\u00e4ischer Klimamotor verlangsamt sich, wird schw\u00e4cher. Die ersten Auswirkungen dieser abgeschw\u00e4chten Kraft des Golfstroms werden vermehrte Hitzewellen im Sommer und h\u00e4ufig vorkommende St\u00fcrme im Winter sein. Unser Klima wird turbulenter, heftiger, unberechenbarer! Besonders in Europa, wo uns der Golfstrom bisher recht gem\u00e4\u00dfigtes Wetter beschert hat, werden wir an den Folgen zu leiden haben.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Aber auch global werden sowohl die Luft, wie auch die Wassertemperatur ansteigen. Warme Wassermassen werden f\u00fcr die Schmelze der Pole sorgen, die unser Schutzschild gegen die starke Sonneneinstrahlung ist. Keine guten Aussichten!
