Diese Art ist auch als Blau-Wei\u00dfer Delfin bekannt und weist eine einzigartige Zeichnung auf: der R\u00fccken ist dunkel grau-bl\u00e4ulich, die Seiten sind heller grau gef\u00e4rbt und der Bauch sowie die ventralen Flanken sind wei\u00df. Graue und wei\u00dfe Fl\u00e4chen sind durch dunkle laterale Linien von den Augen bis zum Unterleib getrennt. Weitere Streifen reichen von den Augen zu den Flippern.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Doch es ist nicht nur das Aussehen der Streifendelfine, die Tiere sind auch besonders elegant. Sie springen oft, wobei ein reiches Repertoire verschiedener Bewegungen durch die Luft gezeigt wird. Manchmal kommt es vor, dass viele Delfine gelichzeitig springen. Wir haben uns gefreut dies w\u00e4hrend unserer heutigen Vormittagstouren mehrfach bestaunen zu d\u00fcrfen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Im Vergleich zu ihren nahen Verwandten, den Atlantischen Fleckendelfinen (<em>Stenella frontalis<\/em>) sind die Streifendelfine weniger interaktiv und bleiben in einiger Entfernung zum Boot. Dies war heute Nachmittag anders als einige Spr\u00fcnge in direkter N\u00e4he unseres Schnellbootes, welches \u00fcbrigens nach der Gattung genau dieser Delfine benannt ist, zu sehen waren.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Leider zeigen die Streifendelfinen unter s\u00e4mtlichen Meeress\u00e4ugerarten eine erh\u00f6hte Sensibilit\u00e4t gegen\u00fcber Meeresverschmutzungen. Umweltgifte wie PCBs (polychlorierte Biphenyle) und Schwermetalle reichern sich in ihrem Gewebe an. Dies schw\u00e4cht das Immunsystem und macht die Tiere anf\u00e4lliger f\u00fcr Virusinfektionen. Die Folge k\u00f6nnen Massensterben, wie in den 1990er Jahren im Mittelmeerraum, sein.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dank strengerer Auflagen sind die Konzentrationen dieser Schadstoffe heutzutage geringer \u2013 ein grundlegender Fortschritt hinsichtlich des Schutzes der Sch\u00f6nheiten des Meeres, der Streifendelfine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"font-size:
