{"id":51706,"date":"2018-09-21T19:00:46","date_gmt":"2018-09-21T18:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lobosonda.com\/?p=51706\/"},"modified":"2018-09-18T17:03:49","modified_gmt":"2018-09-18T16:03:49","slug":"12-09-2018-namen-von-walen-und-delfinen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.lobosonda.com\/de\/12-09-2018-namen-von-walen-und-delfinen\/","title":{"rendered":"12.09.2018 \u2013 Namen von Walen und Delfinen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">W\u00e4hrend unserer heutigen Ausfahrten fanden wir vier verschiedene Wal- und Delfinarten in den Gew\u00e4ssern s\u00fcdlich Madeiras: am Morgen leitete unser Spotter uns zu zwei gro\u00dfen Pottwalen (<em>Physeter macrocephalus<\/em>) mehr als sieben Meilen vor Calheta. Die Vielfalt nahm am Nachmittag zu. Wir begegneten zahlreichen Atlantischen Fleckendelfinen (<em>Stenella frontalis<\/em>), Streifendelfinen (<em>Stenella coeruleoalba<\/em>) und sogar einigen juvenilen Rauhzahn-Delfinen (<em>Steno bredanensis<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Es ist durchaus interessant sich ein wenig mit der Namensherkunft dieser Tiere zu besch\u00e4ftigen. Die Pottwale (engl. <em>Sperm whales<\/em>) besitzen ihren englischen Namen, da die fr\u00fchen Walf\u00e4nger die wachsartige Substanz im Kopf der Tiere (das sogenannte Spermaceti Organ oder Walrat) mit dem Samen der Tiere verwechselten. Der wissenschaftliche Name \u201c<em>Physeter macrocephalus<\/em>\u201d bedeutet \u00fcbersetzt \u201cBl\u00e4ser mit gro\u00dfem Kopf\u201d. Dies stellt einen Bezug auf die Erscheinung der Tiere beim Atmen an der Wasseroberfl\u00e4che dar. Auf die au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Form des Kopfes ist auch der deutsche Name \u201ePottwal\u201c zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Die Atlantischen Fleckendelfine und die Streifendelfine geh\u00f6ren beide zur Gattung \u201c<em>Stenella<\/em>\u201d. Dies bedeutet &#8222;schmal&#8220; und beschreibt die Schnauze dieser Delfine. Das Gleiche ist der Fall beim Fachnamen des Rauhzahn-Delfins. \u201c<em>Steno<\/em>\u201d hat dieselbe Bedeutung und stammt aus dem Griechischen. Die Zus\u00e4tze \u201c<em>frontalis<\/em>\u201d, \u201c<em>coeruleoalba<\/em>\u201d und \u201c<em>bredanensis<\/em>\u201d stellen weitere Spezifizierungen dar: das spitze Rostrum der Fleckendelfine befindet sich frontal am Kopf; die Streifendelfine sind blau-wei\u00df gef\u00e4rbt und die Rauhzahn-Delfine wurden vom Niederl\u00e4ndischen Biologen van Breda untersucht. Dieser wird durch den Artnamen geehrt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Die englischen und deutschen Namen beinhalten direkte Informationen \u00fcber die Flecken- und Streifenzeichnung der entsprechenden Delfine oder spezifizieren die besonders raue Oberfl\u00e4chenbeschaffenheit ihrer Z\u00e4hne.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em>von
