Die Gruppen beider Arten wiesen gemischte Altersstrukturen auf, wobei vor allem bei den Pilotwalen bemerkenswert viele sehr junge Tiere auffielen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Zur aktuellen Jahreszeit beobachten wir recht gro\u00dfe Anzahlen junger Tiere verschiedener Arten, obwohl diese mitunter deutlich unterschiedlich lange Tragzeiten haben. Bei allen gleich ist jedoch, dass die Beziehung des Jungen zu seiner Mutter entscheidend hinsichtlich dessen \u00dcberlebenschancen ist.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Delfinm\u00fctter bringen ihrem Nachwuchs das Jagen bei. Sie verfolgen ihre Beute l\u00e4nger und zeigen mehr hinweisende K\u00f6rperbewegungen beim Fressen, wenn die Jungen in der N\u00e4he sind. Dar\u00fcber hinaus schwimmen sie mit ihren Kindern mit einer reduzierten Geschwindigkeit von nur 76% der durchschnittlich maximalen Fortbewegungsgeschwindigkeit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wissenschaftliche Studien zeigen, dass Schulen mit neugeborenen Tieren spezielle Bewegungsmuster zeigen, um den Druck durch Beutegreifer zu reduzieren. Die gemeinschaftliche Betreuung eines Jungtiers durch mehrere Adulte ist der Regelfall bei Delfinen und wurde auch bei gr\u00f6\u00dferen Walarten, wie beispielsweise dem Pottwal (<em>Physeter macrocephalus<\/em>), beobachtet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ob die Pr\u00e4senz der Gro\u00dfen T\u00fcmmler und der Pilotwale in direkter N\u00e4he zueinander, die wir heute beobachten konnten, eine Rolle im Hinblick auf den Schutz der Jungen spielt ist unklar.
