Jede Zahnwalart hat ihre charakteristische Gruppengr\u00f6\u00dfe, die sich je nach der sozialen Dynamik der Art sowie mit Fress- oder Paarungsgelegenheiten variieren kann. Die fl\u00fcssigen sozialen Strukturen von Delfinschulen kann zu willk\u00fcrliche Gruppenzusammensetzungen f\u00fchren, wobei sich unter anderem gro\u00dfe Schulen aus hunderten von Tieren, sogenannte \u201eSuper-pods\u201c, sich bilden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Heute dienten solche Versammlungen von Meeress\u00e4ugern, bei den windigen Bedingungen drau\u00dfen am Atlantik als gro\u00dfe Hilfe f\u00fcr Sp\u00e4her und Skipper. Heute Morgen trafen wir gleich am Anfang der Tour eine riesige Gruppe von Gro\u00dfen T\u00fcmmlern (<em>Tursiops truncatus<\/em>) direkt vor der Marina von Calheta. Die Mehrheit der Tiere war mit der Jagd besch\u00e4ftigt (bei der Beute handelt es sich haupts\u00e4chlich um <em>Cavalas<\/em> oder Makrelen), w\u00e4hrend die anderen Tiere untereinander sozialisierten und immer wieder auf unseren Bug zuschwammen.\u00a0 Die charakteristische Gruppengr\u00f6\u00dfe von T\u00fcmmlern is circa 15-20 Tiere, aber gr\u00f6\u00dfere Schulen sind auch m\u00f6glich, vor allem dann wenn sich eine praktische Jagd-oder Paarungsgelegenheit ergibt. Dies war wahrscheinlich heute der Fall und die Gruppe wurde am Nachmittag auch gesichtet zusammen mit einer gro\u00dfen Gruppe von Kurzschnabel Gew\u00f6hnlichen Delfine (<em>Delphinus delphis<\/em>). Im Gegensatz zu den T\u00fcmmlern ist es typisch f\u00fcr die Gew\u00f6hnlichen Delfinen, in gr\u00f6\u00dferen Aggregationen unterwegs zu sein.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pottwale (<em>Physeter macrocephalus<\/em>) wurden w\u00e4hrend der Morgentour auch gesichtet. Die Gruppengr\u00f6\u00dfe dieser Art bleibt eher konstant aufgrund ihrer Matriarchat-Struktur, wo eine Leitkuh eine kleine Gruppe von Weibchen und K\u00e4lbern f\u00fchrt. Die heutige Gruppe bestand aus vier bis f\u00fcnf Tiere und wurde schon letzte Woche gesichtet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em>Von Paula
