Das Meer bescherte uns zahlreiche aufregende Begegnungen \u2013 von den kleinen, akrobatischen Atlantischen Fleckendelfinen (<em>Stenella frontalis<\/em>) bis hin zu den beeindruckenden, sanften Kurzflossen-Grindwalen (<em>Globicephala macrorhynchus<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Eines unserer Boote, die \u201eSteno\u201c, ist nach einer der gesichteten Arten benannt: dem Rauzahn-Delfin (<em>Steno bredanensis<\/em>). Es ist immer wieder aufregend, diese Art zu beobachten, die mit ihrer einzigartigen Kopfform ein reptilienartiges Aussehen hat. Wir begegnen ihnen und den Atlantischen Fleckendelfinen meist im Sommer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Auch Streifendelfine (<em>Stenella coeruleoalba<\/em>) waren hier, aber sie waren schwer zu beobachten, da sie Booten gegen\u00fcber eher scheu sind. Sie sind ber\u00fchmt f\u00fcr ihr rasantes Schwimmen, bei dem sie aus dem Wasser \u201efliegen\u201d. Wie die Grindwale kommen sie das ganze Jahr \u00fcber vor Madeira vor, halten sich jedoch weiter von der K\u00fcste entfernt auf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">All diese wunderbaren Wale an einem einzigen Tag zu sehen, erinnert uns daran, wie vielf\u00e4ltig das Meeresleben rund um Madeira ist und wie wichtig es ist, es zu
