Er ist etwa genauso gro\u00df wie der Fleckendelfin (<em>Stenella frontalis<\/em>) und leicht an seinem sanduhrf\u00f6rmigen Muster zu erkennen. Ein dunkler R\u00fccken, ein wei\u00dfer Bauch sowie leuchtend gelb-braune Vorderseiten und hellgraue R\u00fcckseiten bilden ein kreuzf\u00f6rmiges Muster. Er ist in subtropischen bis gem\u00e4\u00dfigten Gew\u00e4ssern weit verbreitet und um Madeira herum eine saisonale Art, die im Winter und Fr\u00fchjahr h\u00e4ufiger anzutreffen ist. Die im Sommer gesichteten Gruppen halten sich n\u00e4her an der K\u00fcste auf. Wir freuten uns, einige K\u00e4lber mit ihren M\u00fcttern in der Gruppe zu sehen. Diese wendigen Tiere k\u00f6nnen bei Bedarf hohe Geschwindigkeiten von bis zu 60 km\/h erreichen und z\u00e4hlen somit zu den schnellsten Walen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Die Artenvielfalt an diesem Tag war beeindruckend: Wir konnten vier weitere Walarten beobachten. Ein junger Fleckendelfin sprang immer wieder vor unserem Boot her. Er versuchte, eine l\u00e4stige Remora abzusch\u00fctteln, die sich an seiner Schwanzflosse festgesaugt hatte, und bot uns damit eine tolle Show.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
