Die Mittagstour f\u00fchrte uns zun\u00e4chst in den Westen, hinein in den Wellengang zu einer Gruppe von Kurzflossen-Pilotwalen (Globicephala macrorhynchus). Anschlie\u00dfend wechselten wir in den Osten der Insel, in der Hoffnung, dort einen Brydewal (Balaenoptera edeni) und Gro\u00dfe T\u00fcmmler (Tursiops truncatus) zu finden. Am Ende wurden nur die Delfine gesichtet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Auch auf der letzten Tour ging es direkt in den Osten. Der erhoffte Brydewal lie\u00df sich erneut nicht blicken, daf\u00fcr begleiteten uns wieder Gro\u00dfe T\u00fcmmler. Gleichzeitig waren au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlich viele Whale-Watching-Boote in diesem Gebiet unterwegs \u2013 ein Anblick, der durchaus zum Nachdenken anregt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Im anschlie\u00dfenden Debrief entwickelte sich ein sehr interessantes Gespr\u00e4ch \u00fcber ein Thema, das ich bereits w\u00e4hrend der Tour angesprochen hatte: Warum werden Wale \u00fcberhaupt get\u00f6tet?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Die angeblichen Gr\u00fcnde, die heute f\u00fcr den Walfang angef\u00fchrt werden, sind vielf\u00e4ltig. H\u00e4ufig werden Tradition, wirtschaftliche Interessen, Nahrungssicherung oder politische Motive als Rechtfertigung genannt. Aus meiner pers\u00f6nlichen Sicht rechtfertigt jedoch keiner dieser Gr\u00fcnde das T\u00f6ten von Walen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Je mehr wir \u00fcber diese Tiere erfahren, desto deutlicher wird, wie au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlich sie sind. Wale verf\u00fcgen \u00fcber komplexe Sozialstrukturen, ausgepr\u00e4gte Kommunikationsformen und spielen eine wichtige Rolle f\u00fcr das Gleichgewicht der Meeres\u00f6kosysteme. Gleichzeitig stehen viele Populationen noch immer unter erheblichem Druck durch menschliche Einfl\u00fcsse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Gerade deshalb halte ich es f\u00fcr wichtig, sich mit den unterschiedlichen Argumenten auseinanderzusetzen und sie kritisch zu hinterfragen. Wissen schafft die Grundlage f\u00fcr eine eigene, fundierte Meinung. F\u00fcr mich f\u00fchrt dieses Wissen jedoch zu einer klaren \u00dcberzeugung: Diese faszinierenden Meeress\u00e4uger verdienen unseren Schutz \u2013 nicht unsere Harpunen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p
