Die Wetterbedingungen machen die Suche oft zu einer echten Herausforderung, und der dichte Sanddunst, der die Insel heute Morgen umgab, bereitete unserem Spotter S\u00edlviano einige Schwierigkeiten. Nachdem wir bereits zur Delfinsuche hinausgefahren waren, rief unser Spotter an und bat unser traditionelles Boot, nach Calheta zur\u00fcckzukehren. Eine heimliche Gruppe Gro\u00dfer T\u00fcmmler (<em>Tursiops truncatus<\/em>) bewegte sich entlang der K\u00fcste in \u00f6stlicher Richtung und sorgte gleich zu Beginn des Tages f\u00fcr eine sch\u00f6ne kleine \u00dcberraschung. Anschlie\u00dfend steuerten wir weiter hinaus in die s\u00fcdlicher gelegenen Gew\u00e4sser, wo wir auf eine neugierige Gruppe Atlantischer Fleckendelfine (<em>Stenella frontalis<\/em>) trafen \u2013 eine Art, die in den tieferen Gew\u00e4ssern rund um Madeira regelm\u00e4\u00dfig anzutreffen ist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">W\u00e4hrend unser Speedboot am Nachmittag beide Arten erneut beobachten konnte, waren die Fleckendelfine f\u00fcr unsere <em>Ribeira Brava<\/em> zu schnell unterwegs. Beide Boote verbrachten au\u00dferdem einige Zeit damit, nach einem Paar Cuvier-Schnabelwale (<em>Ziphius cavirostris<\/em>) Ausschau zu halten. Diese Bewohner der Tiefsee geh\u00f6ren zu den am schwierigsten zu sichtenden Walarten. Zwar bekamen wir sie heute nicht zu Gesicht, doch allein zu wissen, dass wir uns in ihrer N\u00e4he befanden, war bereits etwas Besonderes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Auch wenn also nicht immer alles nach Plan verl\u00e4uft, sorgte heute die richtige Mischung aus K\u00f6nnen und einer guten Portion
