Jungtiere n\u00e4herten sich unserem Boot und tummelten sich um es herum. Diese sehr neugierigen, schnell schwimmenden Delfine interagieren oft mit unserem Boot. Ihre durchschnittliche Gruppengr\u00f6\u00dfe liegt zwischen 20 und 60 Individuen. Das Fleckenmuster auf ihrem K\u00f6rper ist ein Hinweis auf ihre Altersklasse. Junge Tiere haben noch keine Flecken, wodurch sie wie schlanke Gro\u00dfe T\u00fcmmler aussehen k\u00f6nnen. Zun\u00e4chst erscheinen dunkle Flecken am Bauch (gesprenkelt), gefolgt von hellen Flecken am R\u00fccken (gefleckt). Sp\u00e4ter verschmelzen die dunklen Flecken am Bauch und die helleren Flecken am R\u00fccken (verschmolzen).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Delfine leben in einer von Kl\u00e4ngen gepr\u00e4gten Welt, und akustische Signale sind ein wesentlicher Bestandteil ihres Lebens. Studien haben drei Haupttypen von Lauten unterschieden: Signaturpfiffe, Burst-Impulse und Echoortungs-Klicks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Ein Gast fragte, ob sich ihre Frequenzen mit denen des Schiffsverkehrs \u00fcberschneiden k\u00f6nnten. Untersuchungen an Gew\u00f6hnlichen Delfinen (<em>Delphinus delphis<\/em>) und Gro\u00dfen T\u00fcmmlern (<em>Tursiops truncatus<\/em>) zeigen, dass die Frequenz der Pfeift\u00f6ne zwischen 0,8 kHz und 38 kHz variiert. Schiffe erzeugen in der Regel niederfrequentes Breitbandrauschen zwischen 0,02 kHz und 5 kHz. Auch wenn Delfine meist hochfrequente Laute erzeugen, sind sie dennoch auf niederfrequente Pfeift\u00f6ne angewiesen, sodass es zu \u00dcberschneidungen kommen kann, die die Signale der Tiere \u00fcberdecken.
