Sein botanischer Name, (<em>Laurus nobilis<\/em>), bedeutet \u201eedler Lorbeer\u201c \u2013 und genau so wirkt er: w\u00fcrdevoll und still. Schon in der Antike galt er als heilig. In der Mythologie des Apollo war der Lorbeer ein Symbol f\u00fcr Schutz und Inspiration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Seine dunkelgr\u00fcnen, gl\u00e4nzenden Bl\u00e4tter verstr\u00f6men beim Zerreiben einen w\u00fcrzigen, warmen Duft. Dieser Duft erinnert an mediterrane K\u00fcchen und sonnendurchflutete G\u00e4rten. In der K\u00fcche wird Lorbeer vor allem zum Verfeinern von Suppen, Eint\u00f6pfen und Saucen verwendet. Ein einzelnes Blatt gen\u00fcgt oft, um einem Gericht Tiefe und Charakter zu verleihen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Der Lorbeerbaum kann mehrere Meter hoch werden und w\u00e4chst besonders gut in mildem Klima. Seine wei\u00dfen bis gelblichen Bl\u00fcten erscheinen im Fr\u00fchjahr eher unscheinbar. Sp\u00e4ter bilden sich kleine dunkle Beeren, die ebenfalls aromatisch sind. Der Lorbeer ist nicht nur Gew\u00fcrz-, sondern auch Symbolpflanze. Ein Lorbeerkranz stand fr\u00fcher f\u00fcr Sieg, Ehre und Weisheit. Noch heute spricht man davon, \u201eLorbeeren zu ernten\u201c, wenn jemand Anerkennung erf\u00e4hrt. Gleichzeitig erinnert uns der Baum daran, dass wahre Gr\u00f6\u00dfe still w\u00e4chst. Seine festen Bl\u00e4tter trotzen Wind und Wetter. Er bleibt gr\u00fcn, auch wenn andere Pflanzen sich zur\u00fcckziehen.
