Unser Spotter Silviano suchte weitr\u00e4umig nach Aktivit\u00e4ten von Walen und Delfinen in unseren Gew\u00e4ssern, bevor er schlie\u00dflich drau\u00dfen auf dem offenen Meer eine Gruppe von Delfinen entdeckte, die durch die Wellen jagte. Der starke Wind und die h\u00e4ufigen Richtungswechsel der Gruppe machten es schwierig, ihnen zu folgen, sodass sich unser Team schlie\u00dflich auf eine Sichtung von Streifendelfinen (<em>Stenella coeruleoalba<\/em>) vor Funchal konzentrierte. Die hohe Dichte an Booten rund um die Tiere veranlasste uns, uns zur\u00fcckzuhalten und Abstand zu wahren, in der Hoffnung, dass sich die Gruppe uns n\u00e4hern w\u00fcrde. Nach einer kurzen Bugwellenfahrt verschwanden die Delfine jedoch wieder und wichen den Booten aktiv aus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Streifendelfine geh\u00f6ren zu den Arten, die die Gew\u00e4sser rund um unsere Inseln das ganze Jahr \u00fcber gelegentlich besuchen. Es sind wundersch\u00f6ne Delfine, die in enorm gro\u00dfen Verb\u00e4nden reisen, welche sich beim Erreichen der gesch\u00fctzten Gew\u00e4sser rund um ozeanische Inseln in Untergruppen von 20\u201340 Tieren aufteilen. Die Art zeigt meist ein ausweichendes Verhalten, doch unsere kurze Begegnung erm\u00f6glichte zumindest einen fl\u00fcchtigen Blick auf ihr wundersch\u00f6nes Flankenmuster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Unsere G\u00e4ste am Nachmittag hatten etwas mehr Gl\u00fcck. In kurzen wind\u00e4rmeren Phasen konnte unser Spotter Gro\u00dfe T\u00fcmmler (<em>Tursiops truncatus<\/em>) und Kurzflossen-Grindwale (<em>Globicephala macrorhynchus<\/em>) sichten. Diese beiden Arten besuchen Madeira ebenfalls das ganze Jahr \u00fcber, sind jedoch \u2013 im Gegensatz zu den Streifendelfinen \u2013 keine gelegentlichen G\u00e4ste. F\u00fcr beide Arten sind in Madeira ans\u00e4ssige Populationen best\u00e4tigt, was einmal mehr die Bedeutung unserer Region als ozeanischen Lebensraum unterstreicht.<\/span><\/p>\n<p
