Unser Sp\u00e4her Drumond entdeckte den Blas der Tiere, und damit war die Jagd er\u00f6ffnet. Wir fuhren zu der Stelle, an der Drumond den Blas gesehen hatte, aber leider ohne Erfolg. Wir fuhren dann in die Richtung, in die unsere Wale schwammen, aber sie m\u00fcssen die Richtung ge\u00e4ndert haben, denn von unserem Schiff aus konnten wir nichts entdecken. Dann kam erneut ein Ruf unseres Sp\u00e4hers. Er hatte sie wieder gesehen, diesmal an einer anderen Stelle. Wir fuhren dorthin, aber leider ohne Erfolg. Diesmal blieben sie f\u00fcr uns unsichtbar. Es ist die Natur, wir k\u00f6nnen sie nicht kontrollieren. Vielleicht klappt es beim n\u00e4chsten Mal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Bartenwale sind seltene Besucher der Insel, und wenn sie kommen, bleiben sie nur kurz. Normalerweise verbringen sie die Sommermonate in der N\u00e4he von Island und an anderen Orten im Nordatlantik und den Winter weiter s\u00fcdlich, beispielsweise bei den Kapverdischen Inseln. Sie sind schnelle Schwimmer, der Seiwal (<i>Balaenoptera borealis<\/i>) kann sogar Geschwindigkeiten von bis zu 50 km\/h in kurzen Sprints erreichen.
