Dies ist ein kleiner Delfin, der das ganze Jahr \u00fcber rund um Madeira anzutreffen ist, obwohl es schwierig ist, diese Art gut zu sehen, da es sich um einen ozeanischen und scheuen Delfin handelt. Was mir an dieser Art jedoch gef\u00e4llt, ist ihr mythologischer Hintergrund. Streifendelfine geh\u00f6ren zu den h\u00e4ufigsten Delfinen im Mittelmeer. Bereits die alten Zivilisationen dort begegneten ihnen und f\u00fcr viele waren sie heilige Tiere, Boten der Meeresg\u00f6tter. Deshalb wurden sie oft in Wandmalereien, Mosaiken, T\u00f6pferwaren oder anderen Kunstformen dargestellt und sie sind auch heute noch das Nationaltier Griechenlands. Wenn Sie also das n\u00e4chste Mal eine Reise ans Mittelmeer unternehmen, halten Sie Ausschau nach diesen Darstellungen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Neben dieser Art begegneten wir im Laufe des Tages noch zwei weiteren Arten. Zum einen den Gro\u00dfen T\u00fcmmlern (<i>Tursiops truncatus<\/i>), die hier h\u00e4ufig anzutreffen sind, zum anderen einigen Blainville-Schnabelwalen (<i>Mesoplodon densirostris<\/i>). Dies ist die am h\u00e4ufigsten vorkommende Schnabelwalart rund um Madeira.
