Diese Art hat ihren Namen von der fr\u00fchen Theorie, dass es einen Anf\u00fchrer gibt, einen Navigator, der die Gruppe steuert, w\u00e4hrend die anderen ihm folgen, selbst wenn dies den sicheren Tod bedeutet. Leider neigt diese Art mehr als fast jede andere Walart zu Massenstrandungen. Pilotwale reagieren empfindlich auf L\u00e4rmverscmutzung, doch Massenstrandungen sind wahrscheinlich auch teilweise auf ihre unglaublich starken sozialen Bindungen innerhalb der Gruppe zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren. Diese f\u00fchren zu einem Verhalten, das als \u201eStanding by\u201d bezeichnet wird, bei dem Gruppenmitglieder nicht zur\u00fcckgelassen werden und die Gruppe zusammenbleibt, selbst wenn eines strandet. Bis zu einem gewissen Grad k\u00f6nnte also etwas Wahres an der Theorie sein, die zu dem gebr\u00e4uchlichen Namen dieser Art gef\u00fchrt hat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\" style=\"text-align:
