Diese Technik hei\u00dft Foto-ID. Viele Wale, wie die Gro\u00dfen T\u00fcmmler (<i>Tursiops truncatus<\/i>) und die Rundkopfdelfine (<i>Grampus griseus<\/i>), denen wir heute begegnet sind, haben einzigartige Markierungen am K\u00f6rper, anhand derer wir ein Tier eindeutig identifizieren k\u00f6nnen. Bei Rundkopfdelfinen beispielsweise ist jedes Narbenmuster, das sie durch K\u00e4mpfe untereinander und mit Raubtieren und Beutetieren erhalten, einzigartig und hilft uns, diese Tiere zu identifizieren. Wenn wir diese Fotos nun mit anderen Wissenschaftlern teilen, k\u00f6nnen wir sehen, ob sie dasselbe Tier gesehen haben. Ist dies der Fall, wissen wir, wohin sie gegangen sind, und k\u00f6nnen herausfinden, ob sie zur\u00fcckkommen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Deshalb ist eine Kamera eines der wichtigsten Werkzeuge in der Walforschung.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Auf unserer letzten Reise sind wir einer weiteren Delfinart begegnet, den sogenannten Streifendelfinen (<i>Stenella coeruleoalba<\/i>). Dies ist eine scheue Delfinart.
