Der Pottwal ist das gr\u00f6\u00dfte Raubtier der Welt, wobei die M\u00e4nnchen bis zu 18 m lang werden k\u00f6nnen. Sie k\u00f6nnen mehr als 2 km tief und \u00fcber 2 Stunden lang tauchen. Dort in der Tiefsee jagen sie Tintenfische, auch die m\u00e4chtigen Riesenkalmare (<i>Architeuthis dux<\/i>), von denen Pottwale oft Narben am K\u00f6rper bekommen. Hier auf Madeira sehen wir meist Weibchen und Jungtiere, die in kleinen Gruppen leben.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Palatino; font-size: 12pt;\">Abgesehen von dieser Art hatten wir heute zwei Delfinarten. Die aktivere Art war der Atlantische Fleckendelfin (<i>Stenella frontalis<\/i>). Hier hatten die G\u00e4ste der Ribeira Brava auf der ersten Fahrt das Gl\u00fcck, das leuchtend rosafarbene m\u00e4nnliche Geschlechtsorgan eines Fleckendelfins zu sehen, etwas, das nur selten zu sehen ist. Normalerweise sehen wir sie um das Boot herumspringen und in den von uns erzeugten Wellen surfen. Die zweite Delfinart waren die Gro\u00dfen T\u00fcmmler (<i>Tursiops truncatus<\/i>).
