Manche von ihnen legen oft weite Strecken auf ihren Wanderungen zur\u00fcck. Diese Migrationen sind saisonal bedingt und dienen vor allem der Nahrungsaufnahme und Fortpflanzung. Die gr\u00f6\u00dften Walarten, wie Blauwale, Grauwale und Buckelwale, unternehmen einige der l\u00e4ngsten Wanderungen im Tierreich.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Die meisten Walarten verbringen den Sommer in kalten, n\u00e4hrstoffreichen Gew\u00e4ssern der Polarregionen. Hier in ihren Nahrungsgr\u00fcnden nehmen sie gro\u00dfe Mengen an Krill und Fisch auf. Wenn der Winter, wenn das Nahrungsangebot schwindet, begeben sie sich auf lange Reisen in w\u00e4rmere Gew\u00e4sser. In den tropischen oder subtropischen Regionen paaren sie sich und bringen sie ihre Jungen zur Welt. Diese w\u00e4rmeren Temperaturen helfen den neugeborenen K\u00e4lbern, nicht zu viel K\u00f6rperw\u00e4rme zu verlieren.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">Ein ber\u00fchmtes Beispiel f\u00fcr Walwanderungen ist die des Grauwals (<\/span><em><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">Eschrichtius robustus<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">), der j\u00e4hrlich eine Strecke von bis zu 20.000 Kilometern zwischen der Arktis und den warmen Lagunen Mexikos zur\u00fccklegt. Auch <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">die <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">Buckelwale (<\/span><em><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">Megaptera novaeangliae<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">) sind <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">bekannte Weitgereiste. E<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">inige Populationen schwimmen von der Antarktis bis nach Australien oder Hawaii. Die Orientierung auf diesen langen Strecken ist ein faszinierendes R\u00e4tsel. Wissenschaftler vermuten, dass Wale sich an der Erdmagnetik, Meeresstr\u00f6mungen und akustischen Signalen orientieren. W\u00e4hrend Zahnwale wie Delfine und Pottwale Sonar zur Navigation nutzen, verlassen sich Bartenwale vor allem auf ihr Geh\u00f6r, sowie Wasserstr\u00f6mungen.&#8220; <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Doch die Migration der Wale ist zunehmend bedroht. Meeresverschmutzung, L\u00e4rm durch Schiffsverkehr, Windkraftradparks und Fischerei stellen gro\u00dfe Herausforderungen dar. Insbesondere der zunehmende Schiffsverkehr kann zu Kollisionen f\u00fchren, die f\u00fcr Wale oft t\u00f6dlich enden. Die Wanderungen der Wale sind nicht nur beeindruckend, sondern auch ein wichtiger Bestandteil des marinen \u00d6kosystems.
