Unser Team fuhr nach Westen und konnte eine Gruppe von Kurzflossen-Grindwalen (<i>Globicephala macorhrynchus<\/i>) ausfindig machen, die in Begleitung von sehr aktiven Gro\u00dfen T\u00fcmmlern (Tursiops truncatus) unterwegs waren. Unserer Stenella gelang sogar eine weitere Sichtung ihrer Namensvetter, der Atlantischen Fleckendelfine (<i>Stenella frontalis<\/i>), weiter drau\u00dfen auf dem Meer, und dank unseres neu erworbenen Hydrophons wurden diese Sichtungen sowohl zu einem visuellen als auch zu einem akustischen Erlebnis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Abgesehen davon, dass sie einen v\u00f6llig anderen Lebensraum als wir bewohnen, nehmen Wale die Welt auch ganz anders wahr als wir Menschen. W\u00e4hrend wir Menschen in der Regel visuelle Lebewesen sind, verlassen sich Wale wie viele andere Meerestiere haupts\u00e4chlich auf ihre akustische Wahrnehmung. Das macht Sinn, da sich Schallwellen im Wasser viel effizienter ausbreiten als in der Luft, und unser Hydrophon erm\u00f6glicht es uns, dieses wunderbare Klanggemisch w\u00e4hrend unserer Sichtungen zu h\u00f6ren.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Die Sichtungen von Gro\u00dfen T\u00fcmmlern und Grindwalen setzten sich am Nachmittag fort, ebenso wie unsere akustischen Erfahrungen mit unserem Hydrofon. Sobald diese Ger\u00e4te vollst\u00e4ndig in unseren Arbeitsplatz integriert sind, k\u00f6nnen wir damit beginnen, die Bioakustik der Wale und Delfine, denen wir begegnen, aufzuzeichnen, um die faszinierende Klangwelt, die diese wundersamen Gesch\u00f6pfe umgibt, ein wenig besser zu verstehen.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
