Wir blieben hartn\u00e4ckig, und das wurde durch unseren wundersch\u00f6nen Atlantik belohnt. Kurzflossen-Grindwale (<i>Globicephala macrorhynchus<\/i>) wurden heute auf allen unseren Touren gesichtet und bildeten einen friedlichen Kontrast zu den wilden Gew\u00e4ssern, in denen sie unterwegs waren. Diese pr\u00e4chtigen Wale haben eine sehr enge Beziehung zu Madeira als Lebensraum und sind so wichtige Raubtiere in den Gew\u00e4ssern des Archipels, dass Wissenschaftler sie oft als \u00f6kologische Indikatoren bezeichnen. \u00d6kologische Indikatoren zeigen Ver\u00e4nderungen in der Gesundheit des \u00d6kosystems durch Schwankungen in ihren Populationen an, aber gl\u00fccklicherweise wurden bei den Grindwalen auf Madeira bisher keine signifikanten Schwankungen festgestellt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Wir fangen gerade erst an, mehr \u00fcber Schnabelwalarten wie die Blainville-Schnabelwale (<i>Mesoplodon densirostris<\/i>) zu verstehen, denen wir heute Morgen auf unserem Schnellboot begegnet sind. Auch hier haben Wissenschaftler eine starke Standorttreue zwischen den Weibchen und Madeira festgestellt, aber es gibt noch viel \u00fcber diese seltenen und mysteri\u00f6sen Wale zu
