Der Vormittag begann mit einer Gruppe von Kurzschnabelige-Gew\u00f6hnliche-Delfinen (<i>Delphinus delphis<\/i>), die in einer verstreuten Formation vor Calheta auf Nahrungssuche waren. Diese pr\u00e4chtigen Delfine sind hochspezialisierte J\u00e4ger, die f\u00fcr die verschiedenen Beutetiere, die sie in den Gew\u00e4ssern des Archipels jagen, spezifische Strategien anwenden. Ihre Entschlossenheit, erfolgreich eine Mahlzeit an Land zu ziehen, hielt sie jedoch nicht davon ab, sich auf eine kurze Bugfahrt in der N\u00e4he unserer beiden Schiffe einzulassen, und unser Schnellboot konnte w\u00e4hrend unserer Mittagstour noch mehr von ihrem Zauber in den unruhigen Gew\u00e4ssern weiter vor der K\u00fcste genie\u00dfen. Atlantische Fleckendelfine (<i>Stenella frontalis<\/i>) waren heute ebenfalls in der N\u00e4he und sprangen sowohl auf der vormittags- als auch auf der nachmittags- Tour in ihrer gewohnt charismatischen Art neben uns her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Georgia, Palatino;\">Auf die Sichtungen kleinerer Delfine folgte sp\u00e4ter am Tag eine \u00fcberraschende Begegnung mit ihren gr\u00f6\u00dferen Vettern. Zwei gro\u00dfe Finnwale (<i>Balaenoptera physalus<\/i>) waren vor Calheta unterwegs, ebenso wie ein gro\u00dfer Blauwal (<i>Balaenoptera m. musculus<\/i>). W\u00e4hrend unserem Team eine fantastische Sichtung der eleganten Finnwale gelang, erschwerten die schwierigen Bedingungen die Verfolgung des Blauwals, so dass wir ihn schlie\u00dflich nicht fanden. Wir haben trotzdem alle gel\u00e4chelt; die Anwesenheit solch gro\u00dfartiger Tiere ist unglaublich dem\u00fctigend und erinnert uns daran, wie klein wir sind und wie unglaublich gro\u00df unser
