In the morning, guests were lucky enough to encounter two different species of dolphins. Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) were found near the coast. We got a good look at them. The Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis), on the other hand, were found further out. They were very interactive and enjoyed riding the bow wave.
In the afternoon, there were interactive Bottlenose dolphins enjoying surfing the bow wave and guest observation. The pod of Short-beaked common dolphins had spread over a large area. In different situations, there were some hunting situations. The dolphins and Cory Shearwaters had found some fishy snacks. Depending on the species of dolphin, different foods are given top priority on the menu. Dolphins eat squid, crustaceans, but prefer a wide variety of fish species such as mackerel, sardines, mullet, garfish, etc.. Some guests revealed that they are sushi fans. Dolphins definitely specialize in Sashimi. If I’m going to be a dolphin in the next life, I’m totally fine with Sashimi as food. I love Sashimi, so I would make a great dolphin.
