Pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) were the most common on our tours today. They took it easy and relaxed. If you are guided by the name pilot whale, you could assume that it is a question of whales. Is it really like that? Are they really whales? No and yes. Pilot whales, along with orcas, are among the largest of the dolphins. Dolphins, however, are a part of the toothed whale.
The baleen whales (Balaenoptera) wanted to stay incognito today. Neither the baleen whale in the morning nor the mother with calf in the evening could be clearly identified.
Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) took their time to allow contact, but then with a lot of patience and experienced approach, we had wonderful moments.
