Who experiences the beauty out at sea; who sees dolphins moving through the bright blue; who observe how these beautiful creatures swim effortlessly in the bow wave of the boat, turning around and looking up, can not probably imagine how it is to those who inflict suffering the these wonderful animals. There are now countries that recognize dolphins as non-human beings. There are countries that recognize that dolphins are sentient beings. That’s good, a start. But seriously, in what kind of society do we live, when countries “have to” declare this authorization? How can it be that it is not self-evident, which should be then taken for granted? The intelligence of the heart does not ask such questions, it already knows. Humanity is aware that animals, whether marine mammals or others, are to be protected.
Today our guests on board the Ribeira Brava boat have wholeheartedly enjoyed meeting the wonderful Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) in our bow wave and Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus).
