            02.05.2019 – Typically striped

Published by Marlene Cabral on May 14, 2019

Today we had a very natural sunscreen on our tour, a thick, gray cloud cover. A small group of Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba) behaved typically “striped”, every now and then a change of direction, like keeping a distance. In addition, the group had really tiny little babies, mini-calves, certainly another reason to keep more distance. Yet our guests could clearly see how it came to naming this dolphin species … see for yourself in our photos. Unfortunately, there are not that many, because photography was a little of a challenge today. Something else was there in big numbers, plenty the Portuguese man o’war (Physalia physalis) .
