What a special atmosphere there was out at sea today! A cloud-covered sky bathed the sea in a pale grey. The horizon and the sea merged almost seamlessly. Mist swirled around the island. Amidst all these varied shades of grey, we not only lost sight of the island, but at times also lost our bearings. It was almost as if there were only us and the sea. What a special feeling. The water’s surface seemed to hold its breath. It was the calm before the wind, which then took us by surprise in the evening as our final tour drew to a close. And what dolphins could blend in better with these shades of grey? Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis), accompanied by a vast number of tiny calves, blended perfectly into this marvellous grey spectacle. It was magical.
