Surprises again and again! On our tours, we saw the usual suspects. In the morning, Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis). At midday, Common dolphins. A beautiful Northern gannet was the icing on the cake.
However, the sighting of the day was discovered during our lunch break. A sleepyhead was floating relaxed in the marina, basking in the admiring attention. A monk seal (Monachus monachus) had decided that the tranquil marina was the best place for a relaxed, restful siesta. So it floated in the greenish shimmering harbor basin, its whiskers stretched into the air. Its thick, round body wobbled deeply relaxed in the water. What a sweet sight! Our guests on the lunchtime tour were lucky enough to see this harbor siren.
