A common day can become something truly special – especially when you spend it with Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis). Today, our guests were fortunate enough to experience exactly such a beautiful, “common” day.
In the morning, everything revolved around breakfast. With elegance and playful ease, the dolphins hunted garfish, breaking through the water’s surface in powerful, fluid leaps. Even a Portuguese man o’ war had caught a small fish and slowly drew it toward itself to digest it — a quiet moment within the great cycle of the ocean.
By midday, our guests’ “EnDolphin level” had definitely reached 100 percent. A school of approximately 200 to 300 Common dolphins gathered off the coast — at least by estimate. It felt like millions. Movement everywhere, life everywhere. With visible joy, they rode with energy and grace in the wake of the Ribeira Brava.
A beautiful, special, common day — full of vitality, wonder, and ocean magic.
