Winter is closing in and with that the wet season here on Madeira starts. This morning the weather was good enough to leave for the ocean and so we did it. Sadly the only animals around was a large pod some Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) around 16-18km from the shore. For our speedboat doable, although maybe a bit bumpy. For Ribeira Brava sadly it was to far. Instead we had a nice coastal cruise admiring the flying skills of our sea birds like Cory’s shearwaters (Calonectris borealis), Yellow -legged gull (Larus michahellis)and Zino’s petrels (Pterodroma madeira).
Sadly due to the bad weather all the rest trips of the day were cancelled. We can’t control the weather…
