Today only the Ribeira Brava went out because Stenella got to enjoy a little maintenance. Our species of the day was the Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus). We found a small group in the morning. We tried our best to find them during mid-day but could not find them so sadly we went without sightings. We finished the day with a much bigger group of Bottlenose that was a real treat to encounter. Bottlenose dolphins are a common species to observe around Madeira. They stay here year-round, like to be near the coast and stick mainly to the surface. This makes them our most reliable species to encounter. As a well-loved species that often likes to interact with boats, our guests are always happy to see them.
