Today on our trips we could appreciate the beautiful sighting of some baby dolphins. In the morning we encountered some Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). This small dolphins give birth after 9 months of pregnancy and on our trip we could appreciate these babies. On the second trip of the day we encountered some Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus). Also in that group we encountered some babies. The gestation period with 12 months is longer than the one of the Spotted dolphins and also the baby stays longer with the mother.
During the day also another dolphin species was seen, the Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba). This is a shy dolphin and that is why it is difficult to spot if babies are present in the group.
