Today we could appreciate again the beauty of the animals we have around Madeira. The morning trip started with 3 different dolphin species. We saw the active Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis), the majestic Short-finned pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) and the shy Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba). It is always beautiful to see the form and diversity of dolphin species.
On the second trip we could appreciate another cetacean species. It was the Blainville’s beaked whale (Mesoplodon densirostris). These deep diving animals feel right at home in the waters of the island. Apart of that one also some Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) could be seen. These relaxed dolphins like to spend their time also close to the shore.
