Because of the strong wind on the west side of the Island we decided that our cruise ship guests wouldn’t have to come to Calheta, because Stenella would be coming to Funchal instead for the trip. When everyone was on board we headed to “Cabo Girão” and found a nice group of Spotted dolphins two miles south from the cape.
We slowly headed East this time, when our spotter gave us the information: whale on sight! And there they were, two gigantic Fin whales traveling near the coast, what a sighting! Even our cruise ships guests where happy 🙂
With nice pictures in their cameras and also in their heads our guests went back to the harbor of Funchal and we returned to our homely harbor of Calheta.
