The Atlantic was brimming with Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) today, a species always makes remarkable company. The large group was dispersed over a wide area and consisted of the standard subgroups, with several animals interacting with our boat whilst others were more busy hunting. The pod contained a number of tiny calves that swam playfully around our traditional boat. These curious little animals often jet off by themselves to explore their surroundings and are then swiftly pursued by their mothers and the other responsible females of the herd.
