Astrid’s impressions: After the thunderstorm in the early morning hours went over, the weather developed fine and sunny again with a very calm morning sea. On the first tour, it took us quite a while until we finally found a Blainvilles Beaked Whale off Paul-do-Mar. In the beginning, the animal was diving and hiding but then accepted our approach. Always interesting to see their beak sticking out of the water. The Bottlenose dolphins, we saw on our afternoon trips had a young calf with them. Maybe thats why they were a bit shy today? Bottlenose dolphins are energetic sturdy animals. This species belongs to the residents ones in the waters around Madeira.
