Today the weather conditions out there on the ocean weren’t the best, but still we headed out there and got blessed with a beautiful sighting. We saw a mixed group of Short-finned pilot whales (Globicephala machrorhynchus) with Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus). These two species often hang out together, although having different life styles. The Pilot whales are deep diving animals, while Bottlenose dolphins try to stay more at the surface.
We had the luck to spot another animal out there and this was a special one. I speak about the Smooth hammerhead shark (Sphyrna zygaena). It is the most commonly seen shark species here on our trips. It is always fascinating to see these strange animals out there.
On the second trip sadly we had no luck to spot animals in the ocean. The weather was simply not allowing us to proper search for animals on the ocean.
