18.05.2018 – Winter dolphins in spring

Published by Marlene Cabral on May 29, 2018

An amazing day with two wonderful trips on our beautiful Ribeira Brava comes to an end. During both trips we had interactive Common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) which enjoyed riding in our bow. Our afternoon guests had in addition a small group of Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), which accompanied us for quite a while in the bow as well. It is Spring at this time and although is fresher than usual we have the wonderful Common dolphins, our winter dolphins, still here and in abundance. Today a guest realized accurately that the beak of the Short- beaked Common dolphins are quite long. That’s right … BUT the beaks of the Long-beaked Common (Delphinus capensis) dolphins are even longer.
