18.04.2017 – The hourglass and other adventures

Published by lobosonda on April 27, 2017

The beautiful Common dolphins are always nice to watch. With their black cape and the hourglass painting on their sides they are easy to recognize. The belly is white and their sides are yellow and light grey. A colourful type of dolphins! Since they prefer a water temperature between 10-20C we normally meet them off the coast of Madeira, mostly in wintertime. This is one of many good reasons to enjoy the sightings with these beautiful animals. During our afternoon trip we had, beside Common dolphins quite a few other ocean animals (Buoy barnacle, Pilot fishes, crabs) which gathered around on a lost buoy. We collected the buoy, examined the animals, which we set free quickly. The crab looked very reproachful, don’t you think?
