After a passive observation of Bottlenose dolphins, between Madalena do Mar and Calheta, the Ribeira Brava set corse further offshore, in the hope to see something more. Sadly we spotted near a “Espada” fishing bout a lot of floating plastic bottles. Obviously this is not our idea of a whale watching trip, and on board, everybody was a little sad. After collecting some of the trash, we passed near the fishing boat, and our skipper Sr. Luís showed his dissatisfaction towards the fisherman. We, on board, hope that this situation won’t happen so often, and that the new generation of fisherman will gain more respect for their surroundings.
