While repairs are being made along the Calheta harbour wall already early in the morning we could see and hear heavy machinery removing the collapsed wall sections that are scattered along the harbour. On our two STENELLA trips today we had the sighting of Atlantic Portuguese man o’ war (Physalia physalis). While we moved from one cetacean group to another, both the Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) and the Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) were easy to spot and during those moments all on board were amazed by the proximity that this species came close to. A pleasant trip for all, even for the few guests that became a little seasick…
