This morning we met a huge school of Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), traveling in more or less 200m ocean depths very close to the shore line towards Paul do Mar. Some dolphins appeared to be very curious, others were in the mood for leaps. We witnessed amazing double leaps, where two animals shot synchronized out of the water and disappeared a moment later back into the blue. We even observed triple leaps! These leaps today were a form of social interaction and a form to communicate with each other … and we were there to see 🙂
