01.09.2017 – Johannas T’Shirt

Today we were lucky, since our very youngest guest was very well prepared for our Whale Watching trip! She was dressed with a T’Shirt with whale prints (Dĕkuji!/Thank you, Johanna J) and got a life vest with dolphin prints on top! This is Ocean-Fashion!

If someone sees as well a rainbow out on the ocean … well this smells like Adventure and something amazing. And so it was! We had baleen whales, tropical whales and to be correct, two of them, a mother with a calf! Although mom kept a distance, protection of the child comes first, all on board could see them well. Sure it is a unique experience for our guests to encounter such huge animals. But with such a mother and calf constellation it is always important to keep in mind, that Mom need all her energy (depending on the baleen whale species 100-200l milk for the little one) to provide whale mother’s milk for the calf.

But we also saw other beautiful things during our trip! Shoals of fish huddled close to each other (protection technique) passed to boat and many, many, many Atlantic Spotted dolphins jumped like bouncing balls on the ocean, were riding the bow wave, hunted fish, socialized with each other and played in the waves.

Quite a few guests confirmed, that is was a fantastic, one time and even the best experience during their vacation! It was simply WONDERful! Thank you nature!
